No Goodbyes

A few days ago, I got the news that Raymond Pagdanganan has already passed on. I really can't believe it at first but when I read it in the news it finally sunk in. Raymond was one of my classmates in High School, although we didn't stay in contact after we graduated, I still considered him a good friend and a nice person. I still remember when we used to play guitar then.. Wow, that was a looong long time ago.. well those were the days. With all the killings and negative news that you see everyday, you get so anesthetized that you really don't care anymore. Hey "this person was murdered by that guy"," Did you hear about that family that was chopped up by those drug addicts?" or "did you hear about that bomb that killed those soldiers in Iraq?" Hmm... Same old news, Heard that already, I really don't give a hoot. But then someone you know dies and it finally hits home. The problem with news here is that you get used to all the deaths around you that you become passive about it. This changed last Sunday when I heard that Raymond died. It reminded me that anything can happen to you at any given time. That we should always be prepared and that we must always prioritize what's really important.

'Mond, thanks for reminding me, I pray that you're well, I know we'll see each other again...
